66 dagen zonder alcohol… 

Dat ga ik doen vanaf 3 januari. Waarom? Om een paar Coronakilootjes te verliezen maar ook omdat ik me zelf erop betrap dat gezelligheid en wijn voor mij op een of andere manier samen horen. Een luxe diner zonder wijntje? No way! Zaterdagavond de borrelplank op tafel. Gezellig!.. en de het zal toch niet voor niets borrelplank heten? 

Ik ben niet de enige: op dit moment staan er al 44.000 aanmeldingen op de site www.Ikpas.nl. En dat is niet het enige initiatief. Het maakt je bewuster wat alcohol met je doet, je doorbreekt vastgeroeste patronen en alcohol is niet meer vanzelfsprekend. Je gaat je ook een stuk fitter voelen en beter slapen. Goede voornemens maak je om in het nieuwe jaar te werken aan je eigen vitaliteit. Tja als Vitaloog® moet ik toch het goede voorbeeld geven. Practice what you preach!

Waarom 66 dagen? Is een dry january niet voldoende? Jammer genoeg heeft onderzoek (John C. Norcross) aangetoond dat 80% van de mensen die een (leefstijl)gedragsverandering willen doorvoeren hier NIET in slaagt. Een verklaring hiervoor is o.a. omdat mensen het goede voornemen dus simpelweg niet lang genoeg volhouden. Uit een ander onderzoek (Phillippa Lally) blijkt dat je om relatief eenvoudige gewoonteveranderingen door te voeren, zoals gezonder eten, meer water drinken of meer bewegen, je gemiddeld 66 dagen nodig hebt. Tijdens dit onderzoek keek men hoe lang het duurde voordat je een nieuwe gewoonte hebt gevormd.


De succesformule R = G x C3 uit het boek ‘Vitalogie!’ kan je helpen om het goede voornemen echt aan te pakken en juist nu wél door te zetten. Waarbij de R staat voor het gewenste resultaat. G is het gedrag dat nodig is om dat resultaat te bereiken (je moet iets doen). Of een persoon het gewenste gedrag laat zien, is afhankelijk van drie factoren: zijn Competenties, zijn Commitment en de Context (C3). 

De kennis is er de wil ook en de context is nu makkelijker dan in de rest van het jaar want we doen het samen! (met heel veel andere stoppers en het thuisfront doet ook mee) Dus geen excuus meer.  

Waarom dan 3 januari en niet de 1e? Eerst nog een nieuwjaarsborrel zondag en als ik vanaf 3 januari 66 dagen doortel kom ik valt mijn 66e dag op 9 maart. Dat komt goed uit! Op 10 maart ben ik jarig 😉
